One of Stoke Newington’s most charming spots for breakfast, Acoustic Brasserie excels with its relaxed Mediterranean vibe.

This small sport packs plenty of tables into its welcoming downstairs space, though it might need just a little more doing to the expansion section to match the charm of the site’s interior, which certainly feels more welcoming.

Space aside, where Acoustic simply is not lacking is in its expansive menu. The appetising brunch options is one of the areas the restaurant prides itself upon, and there is plenty to choose from. I opted for the ‘English’, while my party also tackled with delight a gorgeous Banana and Nutella pancake dish.

The ‘English’. The poached eggs varied in outcome but there’s no space spared here!

The ‘English’ is as you would expect, though the artisan bread brings a little more refinement to this fry-up. The bacon is done just right, as is the sausages and the crisped Hash Brown. The sautéed mushrooms are a little too oily but the restaurant does not hold back on giving a sizeable portion here. Meanwhile the pancakes, for the sweet toothed, are covered in a thick Nutella spread where again Acoustic does not hold back.

Would you like any pancakes with that Nutella?

Drinks are also varied here, with a variety of smoothies and juices on offer. The foam on my Apple and Pear made me feel like I was sipping on a fruit cocktail as, again, the sunshine vibes of Acoustic flowed.

This is a wonderful stop north of the river if you’re looking for a heavy breakfast or brunch option though try to sit inside if you can for the full effect!
